8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Chile Watch TV Chile Live Online

Early on Saturday, 27 February an earthquake 1000 times the strength of the one that hit Haiti shook the central region of Chile. The epicenter was located near Chile's second largest city, Concepción (population about 200,000) but was felt in Valparaiso and Santiago as well. Some report having felt it in Argentina and even as far away as Japan. Tsunami alerts have been issued for parts of Asia, Hawaii, and all the way up the pacific coast of South America to Costa Rica.
