Are US expats in Ecuador worried about the expulsion of their ambassador?

I heard the US ambassador to Ecuador was expelled a few days ago (and the US responded by expelling the Ecuadorian ambassador as well). I'd like to know if that has made any of the US expats in Ecuador uneasy or concerned? Specifically, are you worried this will translate into increasing anti-American sentiment in Ecuador? How does this bode for American expats considering moving to Ecuador, retiring in Ecuador or investing in Ecuador?

My name is Patrick and I have lived in Cuenca for a year. Yes, sometimes I get the feeling that Ecuadorians do not like war-starting psycopaths here. I am a 58 year old, politically-correct, brain-dead expat, no opinion, accept-all American so yea, is does upset me. Or at least when I have time to be upset from my 12 hour a day TV habit.
LET ECUADOR TAKE CARE OF ECUADOR !
Thanks, Pat

Maybe Ecuador will not be a country that is told to follow American policies

I have to praise this country....America is falling apart and in everyone's business. Americans have lost everything and the government does not care. That is why we are here. Correct?

Ecuador, I am sure is happy to have the Americans come and put money in the economy. I see many changes in Cuenca. It is cleaner, more protection, more opportunity for Americans. I have to praise the mayor for what he has done in some of the blighted areas. I hope Ecuador stays independent of American rules and will not be told what to do by the American government who has failed Americans.
