Try some Yerba Mate before you travel!
Mate is the national hot beverage of Argentina. Wine of course, would be the other, winning “best cold beverage” and even “best room-temp” categories. In Argentina, they drink yerba mate in tea bags, called mate cocido… but much more prevalent is drinking the loose leaf tea in a hollow gourd with a metal straw. Take in a Tango Show!
Look for a local a tango show or take tango lessons in your town’s local dance studio. Tango culture is having a renaissance here in Buenos Aires, and more and more young people are learning. Prepare your ears by buying or downloading some electro-tango by Bajofondo Tango Club or Gotan Project.
