How snoopy is the govt in Ecuador? Anything like here in the U.S.

I'm a U.S. citizen, and I'm really tired of driving around town and seeing video camera's all over the place to record traffic movement, let alone the unchecked snooping that the u.s. govt is doing on private citizens here.

Do any of these infringements exist there in Ecuador? Please explain.

From the online research I'm doing I don't get the feeling this kind of snooping is really important there.

Nevertheless, I'm getting close to retirement and want a place where I can feel safe, enjoy the culture and nature.
