Joining the ranks of unemployed US teachers, thinking of Cuenca!

Too young for full retirement, ready for an adventure and exciting possibilities, I've read everything I can find through Google about "retiring" to Ecuador, and especially Cuenca. I'm planning a sojourn this summer. Two questions: I'm interested in taking intensive Spanish for 1-2 wks there. I've read about the Simon Bolivar school. Do you recommend others? Also, coincidentally, I just cracked my first tooth and need a bridge or implant. I thought maybe I could combine the two: Spanish language school and dental work in Cuenca! So, any recommendations? I also really want to get a feel for the place, and truly am interested in relocating. I'm an orchestra teacher, a violin/violist, with a history background, and several yrs in France, pretty fluent French and passable Spanish. Any help with my specific questions would be much appreciated, and more general responses would be welcomed. I believe it would be life transforming, and potentially very rewarding.
Are there any yahoo groups or other such out there related to Cuenca?
