south americans cant say no

South Americans are not accustomed to saying no to anyone. It's not that they are a deceitful bunch. They just consider it rude to say no even if they can't do what you've asked them to.
For example, if you invite them over for dinner they'll graciously accept. But if they can't make it for some reason they won't usually say no. They'll accept and then simply not show up.
The same goes for services to be rendered and anything else. Of course this is not true of 100% of the population. But it's helpful to know in advance that you're likely to be disappointed by someone at some point during your stay.
If your discussion with a Latin American involves business, best to get everything in writing.
