Visiting Cuenca Soon

I plan on visiting Cuenca and other areas for a month or more and am looking for a permanent place to land. I can leave next month, mid November, or after the first of January. Which would be the best time to visit? I plan to stay approximately 6 weeks. Looking for any suggestions. Responses will be appreciated and maybe rewarded with a 'round or two on me'.
