Visiting Cuenca

by ROBERT KNIGHT
(YORKVILLE, IL USA)

What are the first steps I need to take to start my trip (and travel plans) to Cuenca, Ecuador? I realize a Visa is not required, but what to do first in preparation?

I guess vaccinations, passports, tickets, find my contacts prior to?

Thank you, Bob

Hello Bob,
Just made arrangements to visit Ecuador in Feb .'12. The primary purpose of the visit is to explore the potential of relocation to Cuenca.

Made reservations from MIA to Quito (AA). Hotel in Quito for 3 nites. LAN from Quito to Cuenca. Hotel in Cuenca. LAN to Quito, 1 nite in hotel. Quito w/AA return to MIA. Suggest you choose hotes which provide airport shuttles.

Did an extensive search of all possible flights and hotels in both cities. After many days of searching, choose not to use a travel agent. Although, I did consult some travel agents (Am Ex for one) I felt I could make my own reservations for less money with the exact same itinery. Used Booking.com for the hotels.

If I can be of help, drop me a line at wcy7234@gmail.com and I share whatever I have ~ Jerry
